The Purifier — Bhagavad Gita 4.38

Truly, nothing in this world purifies like knowledge. One who is perfected in yoga finds it within the self in time.

न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते । तत्स्वयं योगसंसिद्धः कालेनात्मनि विन्दति ॥

na hi jnanena sadrisham pavitram iha vidyate | tat svayam yoga-samsiddhah kalenatmani vindati ||
How to say it: na hi GYAA-ne-na sa-DRI-sham, pa-VI-tram i-ha VID-ya-te. tat SVA-yam yo-ga-sam-SID-dhah, KAA-le-naat-ma-ni VIN-da-ti.

Truly, nothing in this world purifies like knowledge. One who is perfected in yoga finds it within the self in time.

Knowledge is called the supreme purifier: it clears confusion and fear. For a book on mental health the thought is practical. Understanding what is happening in one’s own mind is already the first relief.
